Our recently established Tasmania Wildlife Hospital charity alongside founding partner Forth Valley Vets is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and contribute to the vital work of caring for our local native wildlife!
Working with an amazing community of dedicated wildlife carers, our charities focus is the assessment, treatment and critical care of injured wildlife. Together with our team of vets, vet nurses, the wildlife carers and wildlife volunteers many injured and orphaned wildlife are given a second chance.
We're looking for caring individuals like you to help our native wildlife.

Volunteer Role
✴️ Assist with daily cleaning of wildlife enclosures and facilities, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
✴️ Prepare and distribute meals according to dietary requirements
✴️ Help record the wellbeing and general care of wildlife patients
✴️ Assist with handling/restraining animals under instruct by vet staff
✴️ Assist with admission/release of wildlife
✴️ Transportation of wildlife to and from wildlife rehabilitators
✴️ Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the welfare of volunteers and wildlife
✴️ Support the team with other tasks, as required

Volunteer Requirements
✴️ Must have reliable transportation
✴️ Genuine passion for wildlife conservation and the welfare of animals.
✴️ Comfortable working around unpredictable wildlife
✴️ Willingness to learn and follow all clinic protocols and procedures
✴️ Good communication and interpersonal skills
✴️ Ability to work both independently and with a team
✴️ Commitment to a regular volunteering schedule
(minimum of one 5-hour shift per week or per fortnight).✴️ Be 18 years old or over and be physical fit.
(e.g. ability to lift up to 20 kg)✴️ Obtain or provide a police check
✴️ Attend volunteer induction training
